Welcome to the 7th Symposium on Palaearctic Thysanoptera
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 7th Symposium on Palaearctic Thysanoptera, taking place 12–16 October 2026 at the Congress Centre of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Stará Lesná, nestled in the picturesque surroundings of the High Tatras.
Although our traditional four‑year rhythm has been slightly shifted since the last meeting in Zamárdi, Hungary (2021), we are delighted to once again bring together the thysanopterological community. This upcoming symposium offers a long‑awaited opportunity to reconnect, exchange knowledge, and strengthen collaborations within our “thrips family.”
We warmly welcome all researchers, students, and professionals whose work touches on any aspect of Thysanoptera—from taxonomy, systematics, and ecology to applied research, plant protection, and pest management. Whether you are an established expert or new to the field, we look forward to your participation in an inspiring and scientifically rich event.
